New York – May 14, 2015 — Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS of NYC), the nation’s first and New York’s largest mentoring organization, hosted its 18th Annual Accountants and Bankers Reception at The Harmonie Club.
This year’s event, which recognizes the invaluable support New York’s accounting and banking industries have long provided BBBS of NYC, honored Ralph Mascia, senior vice president of commercial banking at Bank Hapoalim, Charles Weinstein, chief executive officer of EisnerAmper LLP, and Karen Tillson, operating vice president of customer insights and market research at Bloomingdale’s.
“Through their tremendous professional accomplishments and commitment to community service, tonight’s honorees are true leaders in their communities and inspirations to the young people in our mentoring programs,” said Hector Batista, chief executive officer of BBBS of NYC. “Ralph, Charles and Karen serve as remarkable role models for youth across New York City, and we are thrilled to honor each of them at our annual celebration.”
The event raised $225,000, which will support BBBS of NYC’s mission to provide positive role models for at-risk youth in New York City. BBBS of NYC currently serves more than 4,000 young people throughout the five boroughs each year through one-to-one and site-based mentoring programs.
Executives from several industries, including accounting, fashion, law and finance, attended the event to acknowledge and thank these leaders in the accounting and banking worlds. Charles Weinstein was introduced by Big Sister Alexandra and Little Sister Kacey, and Ralph Mascia was introduced by Big Brother Elwood and Little Brother Ishmael.
